Deflowered Totems
Site specific sculptural installation inspired by botanical and marine life forms inc stalagmite and stalagtite forms, mycelium and root structures. The work appears botanical, but is structured and man-made. It speaks about the unrelenting forces of nature and humans as the invading species. Despite fragility (like the paper and water mediums i use in the making) nature is the dominant force and will prevail in spite of all we do to earth. It speaks of natural resilience and ultimately of hope for nature and the environment. There is so much we still do not know about the way these organic constructions build, behave and grow. We need to work with nature in harmony.
Constructed using upcycled cardboard yarn tubes, Echo Shiro 300gsm paper, glue, waterbased mixed media inc pigments, watercolour and indian ink.
POA. Available for site specific displays.
